Condition and criticality-based predictive maintenance prioritisation for networks of bridges

Numerous bridges are exposed to increasingly frequent and intense extreme events due climate change, while serving more traffic than originally designed population growth. Thus, predictive maintenance of is paramount importance for securing structural safety bridge network reliability. However, the application networks bridges, considering condition criticality within network, has not seen much attention in practice literature. Presented herein a prioritisation method based on: deterioration model individual components uncertainty; life-cycle cost analysis; grouping reduce interruption setup cost; evaluation using specifically tailored version closeness vitality simulation. This been applied 21 Portugal, composed several heterogeneous elements. It showed substantial decrease cost, compared Structures Investment Toolkit, significant differences between network.
